Summer Children's Ministry

We have had a VERY busy summer. Our 1st and 2nd graders had a overnight camp-out June 6-7 at the Hieb Farm. The following week, June 11-15, our K-5th graders, participated in Vacation Bible School. The theme Operation Overboard allowed the children to dive deep into God's love. See the video below highlighting activities from these two events.

We continued our summer with 4 weeks of our Academic Academy where we taught English Language Learners math and reading to help bring them closer to grade level. We work with JCPS to identify elementary age students who need extra academic help. Our four summer interns, Kristen Pope, Elizabeth Stewart, Holly Cunningham, and Millie Horn, did a fabulous job teaching our children. The students showed good progress through the four weeks and made significant gains in their reading and math skills. Below is a video showing the activities of the Academic Academy.
